AMERICAN ACADEMY OF DANCE- December 2009 Newsletter
- We hope that everyone enjoyed a happy Thanksgiving! It is hard to believe that Christmas is just around the corner. Please keep in mind that our last day of operation prior to Christmas will be Monday, December 21st.. We will reopen on Monday, January 4th. Also, just a reminder that December tuition is now due. Please keep in mind that a full month’s tuition is due for the month of December. Although your child will only attend three classes in December, this will be offset in a future month when your child’s class will occur five times within that month. We base our fees on an average of 4 lessons per month.
- Just a reminder that if you have not made your costume deposit of 25.00 per costume, we will appreciate your doing so as soon as possible. All costume orders will be placed this month. The balance of the costume fees will be due in January. After the Christmas holiday we will post a chart on the bulletin board showing the costume balance due on each student’s account. . If, for any reason, your child is NOT participating in recital, the office should have already been informed. Once costumes are ordered, parents will be responsible for costume payments even if classes are discontinued or if you decide not to participate in the recital.
- Recital Pictures / Important dates to reserve: Recital pictures will be taken from March 19th through March 28th here at the studio. An exact schedule of picture times will be posted at a later date, but please mark this on your calendar now!! If you anticipate a conflict during picture week (i.e. vacation planned etc) please let us know right away. That way we MAY be able to arrange the schedule accordingly. Also, be sure to reserve Friday, June 4th through Sunday, June 6th for the recital dress rehearsals and performances. The recitals and dress rehearsals will be held at TPAC in the Jackson Hall. The specifics regarding rehearsal and showtimes will be posted at a later date.
- Christmas Parade: Thank you to all who braved the cold weather and participated with our studio in the Hendersonville Christmas Parade. Our group looked very festive, and we won a prize for “Best Business/Individual Entry”. We were very proud of the way that our students represented the studio!!
- Christmas parties: The younger children (preschool and primary classes) will have a small Christmas party during the last few minutes of their class this week. Monday classes will have their parties on December 21st (unless they elected to have their party this week). Class moms should have already asked for moms to volunteer to bring in treats for the party.
- Nutcracker: Congratulations to Jessica Nasca, Hannah Stahlhut and Jordyn Stumpf from our studio who were all selected to perform in Nashville Ballet’s “Nutcracker”. A complete show schedule may be found on the Nashville Ballet website. There is also a schedule posted on the studio bulletin board. We are very proud of these students and hope that many families from our studio will have the opportunity to see them perform!
- NYCDA: We are so proud of our competition dancers who attended the New York City Dance Alliance Convention this past weekend. Several of our dancers received awards/scholarships. Congratulations to Lauren Fox and Casey Sanders who received tap scholarships to the NYCDA regional competition; Kyra Manayan who received a scholarship to attend the national NYCDA convention in New York City; Casey Sanders, Kyra Manayan and Allison Goodpaster who were invited to attend the NYCDA summer intensive. We are very proud of these dancers and their accomplishments!
- Lost & Found: Recently we have had two cell phones turned in to the office. One is a white
AT & T phone, and the other is a white and turquoise Samsung phone. Also, our lost and found bins in the ladies’ restroom and the lost and found baskets in the classrooms are flowing over with items of all kinds. If you have lost something here in the past few months please check these receptacles. Eventually we will contribute all the lost and found to Goodwill.
WE WISH EVERYONE A SAFE AND HAPPY HOLIDAY!!!
