AMERICAN ACADEMY OF DANCE- December 2008 Newsletter
- We hope that everyone enjoyed a happy Thanksgiving! It is hard to believe that Christmas is just around the corner. Please keep in mind that our last day of operation prior to Christmas will be Saturday, December 20th. We will reopen on Monday, January 5th. Also, just a reminder that December tuition is now due. Please keep in mind that a full month’s tuition is due for the month of December. Although your child will only attend three classes in December, this will be offset in a future month when your child’s class will occur five times within that month. We base our fees on an average of 4 lessons per month.
- Just a reminder that if you have not made your costume deposit of 25.00 per costume, we will appreciate your doing so as soon as possible. All costume orders will be placed this month. The balance of the costume fees will be due in January. After the Christmas holiday we will post a chart on the bulletin board showing the costume balance due on each student’s account. If your child has recently dropped or added a class, please check with the office to make sure that our computer records have been updated accordingly. Although your child’s teachers may be aware of a class change, this does not mean that the change has been recorded by the office. Costume orders are based on our computer generated class records, so it is imperative that they be correct in order for everyone to receive the correct costumes. If, for any reason, your child is NOT participating in recital, the office must be informed this week. Otherwise you will be responsible for payment for your child’s costume(s).
- Christmas Parade: A special rehearsal to review the dance for the Christmas parade will be held here at the studio this Friday, December 5th from 5:30 until 6:30 PM. The Christmas Parade will be held on Sunday, December 7th. It will begin at Drakes Creek Park and run to Imperial Blvd near the Hendersonville post office. A separate email will be sent out with all the details regarding lineup for the parade. Please watch for this email if your child plans to participate!!!
- Christmas parties: The younger children (preschool and primary classes) will have a small Christmas party during the last few minutes of their last class prior to Christmas break. We would like the parties to be organized in the same way that they were at Halloween, with the class moms asking parents to bring in party treats. Again, we don’t encourage anything elaborate – simple snacks will be fine!!! Check with the office if you have questions.
- Recital Pictures: Important dates to reserve: Recital pictures will be taken from March 28 through April 4th here at the studio. An exact schedule of picture times will be posted at a later date, but please mark this on your calendar now!! Also, be sure to reserve Thursday, May 28th through Sunday, May 31st for recital dress rehearsals and performances. The recitals and dress rehearsals will be held at TPAC in the Jackson Hall. The specifics regarding rehearsal and showtimes will be posted at a later date.
- All students, regardless of age, MUST remain inside the building until your ride arrives
- Use extreme caution when entering & exiting the parking lot. Also please escort younger children in and out of the building.
- Please be conscientious about picking your child up on time. If you are going to be late, please call and notify us.
- Please do not allow children (students OR siblings) to play in vacant classrooms. This applies even if a parent is present.
