The American Academy of Dance was formed in the fall of 1986, to offer students an environment where they are capable of receiving personal attention in a demanding yet enjoyable atmosphere. We believe it is our job to not only teach the technique and discipline of dance, but to also show each student joy of performing.  Our instructors approach each class with energy and enthusiasm and a true passion for dance. But the real difference is found in the positive attitude and encouraging spirit embodied by not only our faculty and staff but also our students. You can find some of our former dancers performing everywhere from cruise ships to musical theatre performances to music videos all across the country.  A varied curriculum is offered, however Ballet is the firm foundation of all dance and is encouraged to all students.

Most of our instructors at the American Academy of Dance have either graduated from college with a degree in dance or are working professionals with extensive training pertinent to the class they teach. The instructors attend training sessions at least once a year from the leading dance educators in the country, in order to keep abreast of the most current trends in dance. Paula, along with her staff, strives to maintain a school with a well-rounded curriculum. We will offer uncompromising dedication to the ideal of quality in dance and performing arts ranging in courses for the pre-school student through the advanced dancer. American Academy of Dance offers classes for both the recreational and the serious dancer.

Our studio has three large dance rooms equipped with mirrors, ballet barres, and raised stagestep dance floors. Our user friendly studio also includes a comfortable lounge, snack bar, dressing area, and lobby with viewing windows into the downstairs dance rooms. Our studio is located in Hendersonville, TN. Driving from Gallatin Road you will take New Shackle Island Road (traffic light #4), and then take your second left, which will be Business Ct.
